“Finds” to share...

Hi everyone,

FIND 1:

I have been meaning to share this in class, but thought I’d post it here. Cherise had sent along a link to a music video for a song called Wonderland by Natalia Kills.

The song draws on many of the fairy tale themes we read about and discussed early on in class. Also, it’s an interesting device - as Cherise pointed out to me - to say (in chorus) “I don’t believe in fairy tales”... but then to not reject the traditional romance script that is the central fairy tale device. Worth checking out if you (like me) hadn’t seen this video.

FIND 2:

Angela sent me an email about this find:

I probably don’t need to say too much about how this, but the connections between class discussions about normalized misogyny in popular culture seem rather obvious.

If there are finds like these you’d like me to post, please do let me know. I’m happy to share with the group.
