Sabean, Chapter 2
Our main questions for discussion are:
Why did Hans Keil claim to have a vision from an angel and make his prophecy? Why was he punished for this?
No written assignment for this week. I expect that you will read Chapter 2 with these questions in mind and others that you would like to contribute. Think in terms of the controlling concepts of Sabean's book: Herrschaft, community, person.
Remember that class participation is worth 20% of the final grade. I enjoyed the lively discussions (and sometimes disagreements) that we had in lecture and tutorial in Week 2. Keep up the good work. But if you have not been participating, please join in. The amount and quality of your participation will affect your final grade.
Next week two students in each tutorial will lead a discussion of the assigned reading.
