Activities in
Hellenic Studies: Coordinator of the Language Program for Hellenic
Studies at SFU. My responsibilities here include the organization
and teaching of courses in Greek, developing content for Odysseus, the online
tutor for Greek, directing the Field School in Kephalonia, Greece and other
administrative duties.
Research Interests:
I am primarily interested in Language Variation and Change. In
my dissertation, I investigated the pattern of weak object pronoun placement
in Medieval Greek and the changes that have taken place. I am also
interested in syntactic and morphological phenomena in general, issues
in historical linguistics, and sociolinguistics. My dissertation
was published in 2004 (Variation and Morphosyntactic Change: from clitics
to affixes ). Currently I am working on a brief grammatical sketch of Modern
Greek (with Brian Joseph), and starting a project that will investigate
the pattern of pronoun placement in Cypriot Greek.
