What is HDI?

HDI emphasizes that people and their capabilities are the ultimate criteria for assessing the development of the country.

The visualization below attempts to rank countries based on their HDI index. Three factors contribute to HDI index: Long and Healthy Life, Knowledge and Standart of Living. Such indicators as life expectancy at birth, mean years of schooling and GNI per capita contribute to the country rankings below. Overall, the higher the HDI index, the higher is the quality of life.
HDI Map
The map below is based on data provided by the United Nations on HDI in 2015. The higher the HDI value the more richness and opportunities the country provides to its people.
