Notable Performance Projects


2012 ‘A Moving’

A trio performed at the Belkin Art Gallery in Vancouver BC.  This project was made into a video direcred by Flick Harrison- to be released in the fall of 2012. 


2011 Barego

A quartet performed at Dancing on the Edge Fesitval in Vancouver BC with performers from the BC Ballet.  Given “Classiest Dance in the West Award” in the Globe and Mail in 2011.  


2009-2010 Objecthood of Chairs

A movement theater work developed over a year through support of SSHRC grant in collaboration with Peter Dickinson (English), DD Kugler (Theatre), Rob Groeneboer (Film), and Martin Gotfrit (Music).

Choreographed movement for the production at Bard on the Beach in Vancouver BC


2008/09 Wake

This project has been in progress for over a year and will premiere as a full evening work in September 2009 at the Dance Center in Vancouver.  This project was made possible with a grant from Canada Council. 


2006 Hong Kong Dance Festival, Premiere of “Thought for Food”

Twenty minute work in collaboration with Video artist Jeff Pellier from Base 2 media Productions.  Performed by Rob Kitsos, Jocelyn Wong and Jane Osborne of Vancouver BC.  The work was also performed at Dancing on the Edge in Vancouver and invited to Reed College in Portland, Oregon.  


2004 Hong Kong Dance Awards: Presentation and Gala Performances. Kwai Tsing Theater

This dance was produced through the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts.  It included 13 dancers and one actor all students at the HKAPA.  The dance was invited to be part of the Gala among some of Hong Kong’s most prestigious companies.  


UNDO- Split evening showcase at the Hong Kong Cultural Center.

This concert was made possible by a Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Council Project Grant.  The two dances presented were re-workings of “Maya” and “Self Love” (which was performed by Kitsos and Bruce Wong in English and Cantonese).   The evening also included works by Hong Kong dance artist Aaron Wan. 


2002 Yellow, Northwest New Works Festival: On the Boards, Seattle

Yellow was an interdisciplinary work that involved light sensors that triggered sound samples compiled by Richard Karpin and Rob Kitsos.  The dancers were Master of Fine Arts students at the University of Washington in Seattle. 


2001-2003 University of Washington Summer Arts Festivals

This three-year series included performances throughout the campus at the University of Washington in Seattle.  Each choreographic work was performed to music by Bach.


1998 Fresh Tracks- Dance Theater Workshop. New York City

This critically acclaimed duet was performed in seven different countries.  This worked was developed with the Phfft Dance Theatre Company in New York City.


1997-1998 Grec Festival – and Dies De Dansa Barcelona- - Phfft Dance Theater

Several movement theater works in collaboration with the Phfft company were performed in Barcelona in the Grec Festival.  Some of these works were site-specific improvisations. 


1994 Altogether Different Series and Full Circle Benefit for Woman in Need, Gina Gibney Dance: Joyce Theater NYC: Joyce Theater, Both performances in 1994 with the Gina Gibney Dance Company.  These were debut presentations of Gibney’s company who is now an established artist in New York City. 


1997-99 Flemenco en Route – Solea and the Winds- (Choreography by Colin Connor).  Switzerland, Germany, Italy. This was a collaboration between Colin Conner and Flamenco En-Route.  The project included five contemporary male dancers and five female flamenco dancers.  This was a popular work that went on to have over 80 performances throughout Europe. 


1998 World Expo- Lisbon Portugal - Phffft Dance Theater

The company performed several works in the expo that were collaborations with the Artistic Director Cyrus Khambatta. 


1995 Doug Elkins Company – Paris Quartier D’etre.  Palais Royal, Toulon France and Innsbruck Austria This series included some of the top companies from the States and included a performance on a stage built in the Palais Royal in Paris.
