  Addendum to solution #5; I forgot to include the final-state diagram. It contains the curves in the bifurcation diagram only for the stable periodic points. So, the final-state diagram will contain the line segment along the x-axis from -1 to 1 (where the fixed point x=0 is stable), the period 1 branches leaving from the point 1 will not be there (they are always unstable), the period 2 branches leaving from -1 will appear until -2.2 (where the new period 2 orbits appear), the new period 2 orbits will apppear on the final-state diagram from -2.2 until around -2.5 (when they become unstable).
