Motion on the Henon Attractor

This applet shows the motion of a point moving on the 'strange attractor' of the Henon map under iteration of the Henon map with parameter values a=1.4 and b = 0.3. The yellow curve denotes the attractor. Pressing the Go! button starts the orbit, which is a black point.

Note the apparent random motion of the point (especially if you speed it up). This reflects the complicated, fractal-like structure of the attractor. For a more detailed view of this attractor, see the VB program Henon map.
