1. Begins Tomorrow! Modelling Students: Personalizing Student-Computer
Interaction
.......................................................
Dates: August 1 - 14, 2003
Moderator: Sasikumar Mukundan

The biggest impact of e-learning will be when personalized instruction comes
of age. Computer-based education provides us a one-to-one interaction
between a student and his computer -- an ideal ground for personalization.
Exploiting personalization requires powerful devices to model a student's
current state of understanding, learning preferences, background, etc as
well as a matching representation of learning content.

This 2-week seminar, moderated by Sasikumar Mukundan, a senior research
scientist with India's National Centre for Software Technology (NCST), will
provide an opportunity for a practical discussion about this comparatively
little exploited domain. Please join us!
