The 2022-2023 Executive Committee

Sebastian Moraga Scheuermann

President

Sebastian is a PhD student at the Department of Mathematics. His research involves developing numerical methods to solve function approximation problems, including but not limited to compressed sensing, machine learning, finite element methods, Galerkin and saddle point schemes.

Hannah Potgieter

Vice-President

Hannah is a PhD student at the Department of Mathematics. Her research is on numerical methods for nonlinear partial differential equations posed on surfaces with a focus on geometry processing applications, such as geodesic distance approximation.

Matt Spragge

Secretary

Matt is a PhD student at the Department of Mathematics. Their research interests include the well-posedness of partial integro-differential equations relevant to the field of kinetic theory and the stability analysis of numerical methods used for these types of equations.
