BIOSTATISTICIAN--Assistant/Associate Professor

The Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University in Syracuse invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure track) faculty position in Biostatistics.

The successful candidate will be part of a research team in our established Center for Outcomes Research. S/he will be expected to provide expert advice and consultation regarding the design of clinical and community-based research studies. Additional responsibilities include assisting with grant writing and conducting statistical analyses. The candidate will also participate in writing and presenting results for publication/presentation. Candidate will also participate in teaching biostatistics to graduate and medical students and advising fellows in clinical research projects.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Biostatistics, Health Services Research or related field required, with experience working in a medical environment with cohort studies and/or clinical trials. Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and familiarity with statistical computing packages such as SAS, SPSS, SUDAAN, or S-PLUS is required. A record of publication consistent with rank, demonstrated communication and teaching skills. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
