The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a tenure-track position in Statistics to begin July 1, 2012. While the appointment is expected to be made at the Assistant Professor level, applicants with greater seniority may be considered. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

Applicants should have a PhD in Statistics (or be near completion) at the time of appointment. Candidates must have a demonstrated capacity for independent research as well as an interest in establishing links with other researchers on campus in fields such as biostatistics, actuarial science, or veterinary medicine. Applicants should also be strongly committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and be able to provide leadership in curriculum development.

Applicants are invited to submit a curriculum vitae, statements outlining teaching and research interests, and evidence of teaching ability. Candidates should also arrange for at least three letters of reference, at least one of which should address teaching ability, to be sent directly to the address below.

Closing date for the submission of complete application packages is February 15, 2012 but the competition will remain open until the position is filled. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. UPEI is committed to the principle of equity in employment.
