The Child Health Evaluative Sciences (CHES) Research Program’s mission is to ensure the highest quality child and family centred research will be performed by researchers at The Hospital for Sick Children. Our aim is to improve the welfare of children by basing health care decisions on best possible evidence. 

The Research Institute is seeking an academic Biostatistician to be appointed as Scientist in CHES. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and conduct an independent program of research in the development of statistical methods and to collaborate with other Scientists on applied research projects. The successful candidate will also be expected to be involved in the Graduate Education Program at the University of Toronto, including providing Graduate Student supervision. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience 

Qualifications: 

Candidates must have a PhD in Biostatistics with at least five years of post-graduate experience, which can include post-doctoral studentships and university faculty or Research Institute appointments. The candidates must have strong communication skills and a proven record of achievement in peer-reviewed publications, independent and collaborative research funding, teaching, and Graduate Student supervision. Experience in clinical research is required, preferably in clinical trials, and experience in decision theory is a desirable asset. The Hospital for Sick Children is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and is located within a vibrant Toronto biomedical research community. The successful candidate will be eligible for cross-appointment to the University of Toronto.
