Barber School of Arts and Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin as early as July 1, 2015. The statistics group at UBC Okanagan is part of a dynamic and highly interdisciplinary unit, together with Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Statistics, a strong research record and demonstrated excellence in and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. All areas of statistics will be considered, but preference will be given to those candidates specializing in computational statistics, environmental statistics, uncertainty quantification or those that can collaborate with current unit strengths in optimization and medical physics. Teaching is expected in areas relating to statistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
