Tenure-Track Position in Statistics


The Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for a probationary Tenure-track appointment, at the rank of Assistant Professor depending on experience and qualifications, beginning July 1, 2017. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Statistics or a closely related field.  The candidate should show a strong commitment to excellence in both undergraduate teaching and research.  The primary teaching responsibilities of the successful candidate will be teaching courses at the undergraduate level in Statistics; the successful candidate will be expected to have an active research program and to be successful in obtaining external grants.  

 

Applications should include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching interests and philosophy, a statement of research interests, copies of up to three recent publications and the contact information for three references.  Applicants are encouraged to submit their application material to rtmacdon@stfx.ca with subject line to read “Tenure Track Statistics”, or  alternatively, may submit their applications to:
