Part-time and full-time lecturer and sessional lecturer positions are available in the Department of Statistics, UBC-Vancouver to teach courses offered during the period from September 1, 2018 – April 30, 2019. A Master’s degree in Statistics is required. Completion of, or current registration in, a PhD program is preferred. Some positions require demonstrated ability to provide effective instruction of introductory statistics at the undergraduate level, other positions require the ability to instruct at the third- or fourth-year level, and some require the ability to mentor fourth-year undergraduate majors and Statistics graduate students in statistical consulting and data analysis project work. In keeping with these duties and the goals of our undergraduate and graduate programs, to be a part of our teaching team, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience with data analysis, and some exposure to active learning techniques.
