Research Biostatistician


Job Summary
The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) is seeking a biostatistician to perform senior level specialized statistical work including preparing data extracts, managing study databases, and conducting advanced data analyses within the Research Program of the Clinical Prevention Services Division. Researchers in this Division study a wide array of topics including health promotion, harm reduction and prevention services, focusing on multiple conditions (including tuberculosis, hepatitis B and C, HIV, sexually transmitted infections, mental illness and substance misuse), in order to improve the health of the populations in which these diseases are concentrated, who experience health inequities, and who are disadvantaged by adverse social and structural factors. The biostatistician will provide leadership and expertise to the research team, setting direction for development of new methodologies and study designs. This position will be responsible for the security and integrity of multiple databases and will act as the primary analytic consultant for all aspects of data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of results. This position is grant funded with possibility of extension to 2023/12/31.
