ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Statistics)
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Lethbridge invites applications for a Tenure-Track Faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Statistics. The appointment will commence July 1, 2019, subject to budgetary approval.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Statistics. The areas of research are open. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers a B.Sc. in Applied Statistics, and is considering offering a degree in Statistics. The successful candidate will be expected
to develop a continuing research program, to seek external funding, to teach courses, and to assist with the growth of the Statistics program and the development of a consulting centre. Supervision of graduate students at both the Masters and Ph.D. level is
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science runs a well -equipped Unix network, including undergraduate Linux machine laboratories, and has access to PC and Mac labs. Through University membership in the Westgrid program, a Canada Foundation for Innovation
initiative covering Western Canada, researchers also have access to a diverse range of equipment from supercomputers to visualization equipment. The Department and University are student-focused, comprehensive (research intensive, with undergraduate and graduate
