The Biostatistics Department at Princess Margaret/Ontario Cancer Institute (PM/OCI) is a member department of the Cancer Clinical Research Unit (CCRU) that collaborates
with PM/OCI clinical and basic researchers in a broad spectrum of oncology studies by providing statistical design and analysis expertise. It supports approximately 150 new studies per year including clinical trials, retrospective studies, and cancer translational
studies. In addition, it is involved in teaching biostatistics to fellows and residents within the PM as well as graduate students within the Division of Biostatistics, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. The Biostatistics Department
invites applications for a permanent full-time Senior Biostatistician position.
The Senior Analyst plays a plays a crucial role providing data management, analytic, and programing support to research stakeholders. Primary responsibilities include:
perform statistical programming and preliminary statistical analyses using SAS, SAS macros, and R; provide strong technical programming support to database design and data management; build data capturing systems for Clinical Trials and other clinical studies.
In addition, the Senior Analyst is responsible to work closely with Statistician, Clinicians, Data Management, and Study Coordinators to assure data quality and data summary.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics or equivalent, 4-6 years of data managing
and analysis experience; or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, Informatics or Computer Science, 1-2 years of experience. Effective oral and written communication. Thorough understanding of research database components and structures. Excellent interpersonal
skills and problem solving skills. S/he is expected to be a self-starter, working independently and to manage multiple projects concurrently. A working knowledge of SAS and/or R using a Windows platform is essential.
