Senior Data Scientist

$73,400.00 - $101,900.00 annually

This position will direct and execute the development and implementation of data science research projects in partnership with stakeholders to support the Integrated Data Division, and provide recommendations based on findings that result in policy/program enhancements that address government priorities. Promotes and propagates data science application and skills development across government.

Qualifications for this role include:

·  Graduate degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or mathematics; or, a graduate degree in a related field with five years’ work experience in a data science role.

·  Experience leading/coaching multi-disciplinary senior-level professionals in the development and implementation of data science projects.

·  Experience identifying complex business problems through applying an evolving range of data science tools and techniques.

·  Experience advising senior decision-makers on strategic and operational business enhancements based on findings of data science projects.

·  Experience using scientific methods through experimental design, exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing.

·  Experience designing, implementing and optimizing repeatable statistical and predictive models and algorithms at scale.

·  Experience determining appropriate use of various problem structuring methods and statistical methods for sampling, distribution assessment, bias and error.

·  Experience using machine learning, clustering and classification techniques to analyze diverse sources of data.

·  Experience creating and delivering executive-level presentations for the purpose of decision making
