The Health Sector Information Analysis, and Reporting Division is responsible for a strategic and integrated approach to workforce planning and management, professional regulation, negotiations and compensation
and workforce analysis in support of the Ministry’s broader strategic direction for the health system.
In this position you will play a key role in supporting the Ministry’s business, strategic planning, and evaluation responsibilities through synthesizing, analyzing, interpreting information in a wide range of topics that span the entire health care system.
Economists apply their knowledge of the health care system, health care data, and economic, analytical techniques, to provide comprehensive statistical analysis and policy advice to support the Ministry’s decision making. Working in a team setting, with cross-Ministry, external
researchers involvement, this position is responsible for the design and implementation of complex health care statistical analysis and economic, scenario modeling projects to improve the health and well-being of British Columbians and the delivery of health
care services, while ensuring value for money in the health system.
Qualifications for this role include:
Master’s Degree in Economics or closely related field such as statistics, commerce, or mathematics, OR
equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
in the design and implementation of statistical analysis and economic modelling projects
in data analysis applications.
effectively presenting the results of complex statistical and economic analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as at the Executive level.
may be given to those with expertise and demonstrated experience in programming for data extraction and statistical analysis in SAS/SQL.
may be given to those with experience in health economics or health statistical analysis.
