Post-Doctoral Fellow in machine learning


A post-doctoral position in machine learning is now available in the department of Decision Science at HEC Montreal. The successful candidate will work with Professors Laurent Charlin, Aurélie Labbe and Denis Larocque on data analytics methods for travel time estimation in urban road networks. This position will involve methodological research in the fields of random forests and deep learning using large quantities of smartphone GPS data.



·    PhD in computer science, statistics or a related area with strong statistics or computer science training

·    Excellent programming skills (preferably in Python, R or C++)

·    Highly motivated, with ability to work independently


Additional Information:

This project offers a stimulating and international environment within the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO), which aims to bring together industry professionals and academic researchers to develop cutting-edge expertise in data science, operational research, and artificial intelligence. The fellow would also be a member of MILA, the Montreal Institute for Learning Algorithms, the largest academic deep  learning lab in the world (http://mila.quebec/en/).
