The Department of Public Health Sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University invites applications for a Tenure-track Biostatistician at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a preferred starting date of 1 July 2020.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biostatistics or equivalent, completed by the start date of the appointment. They will be expected to: 1) have strong training in the application of statistical methods to epidemiology, clinical research and/or public health; 2) demonstrate a strong interest and aptitude for teaching; 3) lead an externally funded (eg. CIHR, NSERC) program of research; and 4) demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively with students and colleagues in the Department and the University.
The Department of Public Health Sciences offers 4 graduate teaching programs: a Master of Public Health, a Master of Science in Epidemiology, a Master of Science in Biostatistics and a Ph.D. in Public Health Sciences, including a specialization in Biostatistics, and contributes to undergraduate teaching in the Life Sciences and the Bachelor of Health Sciences programs. The Department has strong programs of research in biostatistics, clinical trials, epidemiology, health services research and public health. There are many opportunities for collaboration within the department and many academic units across the University.
