The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Statistics, with a specialization in Data Science, to commence on July 1, 2020.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in statistics or a closely related discipline, and their current research program will be focussed on big data analytics, statistical computing, statistical/machine learning, functional data analysis, or related fields.
They will also have working knowledge of current data analytics software and techniques employed in both academia and industry. The Department especially invites applications from candidates whose research explores the statistical and mathematical underpinnings
of modern approaches to data science and model validation; and who are interested in collaborating with a wide variety of academic and non-academic partners.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, design new courses in Data Science, and to supervise statistics and interdisciplinary graduate students.
