In anticipation of a new Master's program in Data Science starting in September 2020,  the departments of Mathematics & Statistics and Computer Science invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  The appointment will be in the department that is most appropriate for the successful candidate's research.  He or she will be committed to excellent teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Data Science, including supervision of graduate students, while maintaining a vigorous research program and contributing to the work of the department.


  • PhD degree by the appointment date in Computing Science, Statistics or a closely related field, specializing in machine learning.
  • Evidence of, or clear potential for, outstanding teaching in Data Science, especially machine learning.
  • Evidence of, or clear potential for, a research program that can attract external funding.

Applicants should submit a CV including a teaching dossier or similar record of teaching experience, and the names of at least three referees.

There is some flexibility in the starting date for this position.
