Reduce time spent in waiting room

Quick access to medical advice

Reduce trips to the pharmacy

Our Health Care Management System focus on the interaction between a single patient and Walk-In Clinics currently in place. The system will allow users to keep track of all their medical history, have access to their personal information, find Health Care centers nearby, see potential wait times, book appointments, check in at a clinic, receive notifications when it’s their turn in line, and receive and send prescriptions digitally to a nearby pharmacy.

Application

Landing Pages

The first time you open our app, you will have the option of logging in, or registering.

Registration

We realized that the first time you use our app, you might not be feeling so well, and probably wouldn't want to fill out tons of form fields. As a result, we've used a system that allows you to simply scan your Care Card or BC Services card, and let us do the rest.

Don't worry, our system is linked directly with MSP, so it's completely secure.

Profile

Within our application, you will find your user profile page. This is where you can see all your preferences, change your settings, and have full access to all of your medical history.

To keep your information secure however, we need you to enter your pin to see all of it.

Finding a clinic

As one of the main features of our application, you can find nearby clinics from the map page. The numbers listed on the pins indicate the current wait time at that location.

If you would like to find out more information about a certain location, simply tap on the icon, and a brief overview will pop up. Here, you can select the clinic and go to their profile and see all the information about that location.

If you like what you see, you can go ahead and book an appointment!

Booking an appointment

To book an appointment at a clinic, simply choose an available date and time. You also have the choice of a preferred physician, if you would like.

Once you've made your selection, you're given an overview of your booking, so you can look it over and make sure it's correct. Hit confirm, and your appointment is booked!

Checking in

Once you've made an appointment, your dashboard will be updated with the time remaining.

When you make your way over to the clinic, simply press "CHECK-IN" to let the location know that you're there.

Since this application is linked with your MSP, the clinic will have your information sent to them digitally, so you don't have to go and check in physically with the reception desk.

Digital prescriptions

Another main feature of our application allows you to send and receive prescriptions digitally.

If your physician writes your prescription, they can simply send it over to your care+ account. You will recieve a notification from our application letting you know that you have a new prescription.

You can now send this prescription over to a pharmacy of your choice to have it ready for pickup. Simply choose a location from the map, which shows wait time, and confirm your selection. You will be shown a confirmation, and then taken to your dashboard, which will be updated to show you the time remaining for your medication to be ready for pickup.

Process

1. Investigated the domain: Healthcare and Medical Management

2. Compared existing applications

3. Flow analysis: We started by observing the flow of a patient when they are not feeling well.

4. Activity analysis: Researched Patients’ experience going to a Walk-In clinic. We marked Patients FRUSTRATION + RELIEF points of interaction with Finding a clinic, Seeing a doctor, talking to the receptions to check-in and picking up medication from the pharmacy.

5. Interactive System: We then designed and protoyped how our system will work - for both the front-end and the back-end.

6. We then started to design the skeleton of our user interface. We started with the layout and grids. Then moved on to designing some of the user interface elements.

7. We then continued our interface design process by creating grey-box wireframes.

8. Iterating on our design, we created an interactive prototype with higher fidelity mockups. We used this prototype to test our design on users, and based on the results of that user testing, we further refined our design and created the final application as seen earlier.
