R Resources

This page contains resources that I use for my introductory quantitative research methods course in political science. It includes several course data sets (in comma delimited format). There are also five basic introductory "How To" Guides that I have written to introduce students to R--the statistical program we use in the course. These guides are intended to limit the startup costs of this program and highlight several problem areas for beginners. They should be read in conjunction with a more thorough introduction to the R environment for beginning statistics. For more information and to download the latest version of R, please go to: cran.r-project.org

For a useful, more thorough introduction to the R environment, see John Verzani's SimpleR - Using R for Introductory Statistics
