Techbytes Open House PRINT & WEB Tutorial

This tutorial is for converting the finished images into postcard form for either print or web. For the tutorial on creating the self portrait please refer to http://www.sfu.ca/~tutor/promo/

Note that the minimum size of the finished image should be 600 * 400

Print

1) If the user wants to PRINT the image open techone_print_psd.psd (http://www.sfu.ca/~tutor/promo/download/techone_print_psd.psd)

2) Note that all layers are locked except for the REPLACE layer

3) Open the image of the self portrait that you just did with and drag it into techone_print_psd.psd

4) Note how the image is overlaid on top of everything

5) Right click the new layer that has been created by the new image and click on “Create Clipping Mask”

6) The image will now be “inside” the picture frame, use the move and scale tool now to position your image correctly in the picture frame. For added effect rotate the image a little as the picture frame has been rotated.

7) Finished!

WEB

1) If the user wants to SEND the image online open techone_web_psd.psd (http://www.sfu.ca/~tutor/promo/download/techone_web_psd.psd)

1) Note that all layers are locked except for the REPLACE layer

2) Open the image of the self portrait that you just did with and drag it into techone_web_psd.psd

3) Note how the image is overlaid on top of everything

4) Right click the new layer that has been created by the new image and click on “Create Clipping Mask”

1) The image will now be “inside” the picture frame, use the move and scale tool now to position your image correctly in the picture frame.

2) Finished!
