Public Lecture Series:
Genetic Technology, Information, and Privacy

From genetic testing to tracking internet usage, changes in technology are bringing in new ethical challenges in the areas of privacy.  Who should own information?  How can information be used, and when should it be protected?  This lecture series will explore these questions, and lay the groundwork for a thinking about a topic that increasingly affects all of us.

How could the availability of genetic information affect our privacy?  How might it affect who has access to treatment?  Who should own human genetic information – the individual, the company that invested in creating the analysis techniques, or the public?
