scene to scene transition is used to transport us across significant distances of time and space.
In the beginning of the novel, Kai tries to claim Toshi down due to someone is going to get Toshi.
The author used scene to scene transition to shift us for Toshi's bedroom 14th, Nov, 2006 to the sky of Kokuro on 9th Aug,1945.
I think this transition type is used here to build suspense due to we know that
something is going to happen to Toshi and now we get to know how this whole thing began.
