Brenda Gould
B.A., 1997

Since graduating from SFU I spent one year working for several consultants and First Nation groups. Since then I work for myself and have the honour of being a full time archaeologist, trainer and heritage policy consultant for the Upper Similkameen Indian Band.

We undertake several major archaeology field projects a year utilising state of the art GPS and GIS. In addition to research, interviews, training and writing reports we developed a set of Band heritage policies, procedures and permits. We hold regular workshops designed for children as well as annual archaeology camp. We host the Langara College field school every summer.

Most recent plans include a museum and interpretive/research centre to be located in the Similkameen. The work entails long hours and every day of the week but the rewards are awesome.
