The Evenki are a Tungusic speaking group of reindeer herders whose range over a wide area of the trans-Baikal and indeed Siberia itself. The museum features a reconstructed Evenki camp with birch bark and hide tipis (summer and winter dwellings respectively) and examples of Evenki material culture.

Evenki moose boards (as pictured above) have practical use as sawhorses but can also support platforms used in a shaman's ritual space.

Hide stretchers (as seen below) are boards used for stretching animal skins. These boards can also be seen in the background of the birch bark baskets.
