Visiting Researcher Dr. Catriel Greco

Catriel Greco holds a PhD in Archeology from the University of Buenos Aires, where he also worked as assistant teacher for five years. Currently Dr. Greco is an Assistant Researcher with the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET) at the Department of Geology, National University of San Luis.

Dr. Greco's doctoral research was on temporality and spatiality in the archeology of the Calchaquí Valleys of Argentina. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Research in Environmental Geography of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He has also participated in research and outreach teams at the national universities of Buenos Aires, San Luis and Autónoma de México.

He has published several articles in national and international scientific books and journals with peer review, as well as presentations at national and international scientific meetings. He has abundant experience of archaeological field work (mapping, digging, photogrammetric survey) and interaction with local communities carrying out outreach tasks and participative projects.

Research interests:  Andean and Chiefdom Archaeology; Bayesian chronological modeling; archaeomagnetism; Photogrammetry survey (terrestrial/UAVs); Community management of archaeological heritage.
