Three Application Tips from our Program Director

With the HRM Program application deadline quickly approaching, we want to make sure you submit your best application. You can read about the application requirements on our website, but here are some extra tips shared by the HRM Program Director, John Welch.  

  1. Make sure your resume is concise and up-to-date. Include HRM field, lab, and community/public engagement experience. List any publications or consulting reports. 
  2. Present yourself professionally in writing. Research and writing is key in our program. We want to see your proficiency both in technical/scientific writing and in communicating the results of investigations. 
  3. Think through your one-page research prospectus. Make sure your thesis plans are attainable within a two-year timeframe. We know that thesis topics change, so the key element is to present a clear and considered research plan.
