New Bursaries for Postsecondary Studies in FSL Program

The Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC) launched on April 28th the new Bursaries for Postsecondary Studies in French as a Second Language Program aiming to encourage young, English-speaking Canadians to pursue postsecondary studies in French.

The program includes a total of 850 non-renewable bursaries, each worth $3,000, which will be awarded yearly from 2020 to 2023.

OFFA will be in charge of granting 90 of these bursaries to SFU students who are in a program taught primarily in French.

Under the slogan “It’s rewarding to be bilingual!”, the Program highlights the several benefits of pursuing postsecondary studies in French:

  • Achieving lifelong bilingualism
  • Opportunity to expand knowledge about the Francophone culture
  • Better employment opportunities
  • Improved wages

More details about the application process will be communicated to SFU students soon. In the meantime, we invite you to visit the FSL Bursary Program page for more information.

This project has been made possible in part by the Government of Canada. This program is administered by the ACUFC.
