Rémi Marien appointed OFFA Associate Director of Operations at SFU
The Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs (OFFA) at Simon Fraser University (SFU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rémi Marien as OFFA’s Associate Director of Operations.
Rémi Marien holds a Master of Management Sciences and a Master of Business Administration, Management and Quality from the University of Versailles and the École supérieure de commerce in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France. For the last 10 years, Marien served as the executive director of the CJFCB (BC Francophone Youth Council), where his skills in leadership, planning and strategic management were put to good use. He has greatly contributed to the development and sustainability of the organization’s cultural, educational and social programs, quadrupling the annual budget and quintupling the number of employees. His many accomplishments at the CJFCB have established him as a prominent figure for La Francophonie at the provincial, national and even the international level.
In joining OFFA’s management team, Marien will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising and controlling the operations of OFFA. He will also play a defining role in partnership development and will ensure the continued collaboration with British Columbia’s Francophone community, in particular with partners from the Francophone education community. “Rémi is a solid addition to our team, who will contribute to our development and the status of French at SFU. His experience working directly with students and youth, his management skills, as well as his expertise in community and government relations are major assets in supporting OFFA’s mission. We are delighted that he has joined the team,” said Gino LeBlanc, Director of OFFA.
OFFA’s mission is to coordinate, promote and support the development of programs and courses offered in French at Simon Fraser University. It also organizes scientific and cultural activities in the community in order to help promote a plural and inclusive Francophonie.
