The summer Bootcamp FrancoFUN is back! You are invited to come and discover the francophonie in all of its forms, on sunny Burnaby Mountain! Experience a week of professional development in French which combines pedagogy, language, arts and outdoor activities.

Core French: Identity in Action!

July 6-10, 2020 – 9:30 am to 3 pm

If you are a Core French teacher and you would like to go deeper in your pedagogical practice through authentic learning experiences, then this bootcamp is for you.

Francophone Program and French Immersion: Literacy in Action!

SFU Burnaby campus

July 13-17, 2020 – 9 :30 am to 3 pm

If you are a teacher in the Francophone Program or French Immersion and you would like to explore innovative practices and, in particular, teaching of reading within a professional community, then this bootcamp is for you.

  • Exploration and innovation in teaching French : pedagogy focused on nature, outdoors and pedagogy of places

The Instructors

Instructor
Nathalie Walsh has been teaching in the French as a Second Language programs for more than 20 years.  After many years in the classroom, she is now a Faculty Associate in the French Module of the Professional Development Program at the Faculty of Education at SFU.

Instructor
Dr. Kim Lockhart
has been working in French as a Second Language programs for about 20 years.  She was first a teacher in different grades before becoming a student advisor.  Since 2009, she has been training future French teachers and is currently a Faculty Associate in Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Education at SFU.
