Add some practical experience to your résumé
At OFFA, we believe the best way to discover what you are passionate about and start building your résumé is to get involved in your community!
That's why we develop many partnerships with Francophone and bilingual organizations and offer you opportunities to enjoy unique experiences that are in line with your interests.
Here are a few options for events that generally happen every year:
French for the Future Local Forum—Vancouver, April
A great way to get involved is to be part of the volunteer team at the Local Forum organized by French for the Future.
Every year, towards the end of April, we are pleased to host this event on SFU’s Burnaby campus. About thirty volunteers are needed to provide an unforgettable experience for approximately 300 high school students, in French.

Canadian Parents for French Concours d’art oratoire public speaking competition—Surrey, May
Every year at OFFA, we are pleased to participate in the provincial finals of the Canadian Parents for French (CPF) Concours d’art oratoire by forming a team of judges.
The event generally takes place on the first Saturday in May and brings together approximately 300 students from grades 6 to 12 from across British Columbia.
If you already participated in the Concours d’art oratoire, perhaps you would be willing to relive the experience, this time in a judge's chair?
Even if you aren’t familiar with the competition, are you ready to be inspired by impressive oral presentations, all in French?
Note: It is not necessary to have experience as a member of the jury in order to volunteer. A short training session will be offered on the morning of the event.
