SFU Beedie MBA alumnus honoured with Mitacs award for health tech innovation

Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business congratulates Fattah Haeri (MBA ’24), founder of Femera Medical Technologies Inc., on receiving the Canadian Start-Up Innovator of the Year award at the 2025 Mitacs Innovation Awards.

Haeri, a biomedical engineer and SFU Beedie MBA alumnus, is recognized for addressing a significant health challenge: urinary incontinence among women over age 65. His company, Femera Medical Technologies, is developing a minimally invasive treatment that uses a vaginal probe to restore tissue elasticity and strengthen pelvic floor muscles. The goal is to provide an affordable, accessible alternative to surgery for women living with this condition.
