SFU JDC West 2026 team earns third place overall finish
Students from SFU's Beedie School of Business have returned from JDC West with an impressive showing, earning third place overall Academic School of the Year at Western Canada’s most prestigious undergraduate business competition.
Held from January 16–18 at the Edwards School of Business in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, JDC West welcomed approximately 1,300 attendees, including 650 undergraduate delegates from 12 leading post-secondary institutions across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
SFU Beedie’s delegation delivered strong results across academic, athletic, and community-impact categories—reflecting months of preparation, collaboration, and commitment from students, faculty, and alumni.
Results
SFU Beedie students earned podium finishes across multiple disciplines:
- 1st place: Marketing, Finance
- 2nd place: Non-for-Profit
- 3rd place: Operations Management, Human Resources
In addition to academic performance, the team demonstrated leadership and teamwork beyond the case rooms, earning:
- 1st place: Athletics
- 1st place: Charity Hours
- 3rd place: Charity Dollars
SFU Beedie congratulates the 54 students who represented the school and dedicated the past eight months to training for JDC West. Their success is a testament to perseverance, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.
The school also extends its sincere thanks to faculty advisors Stephen Spector and Bahareh Assadi for mentoring students and facilitating their learning and development throughout the year. We also extend gratitude to Kamal Masri, Associate Dean, for his ongoing support, as well as the 47 alumni and 12 senior students who served as coaches and continue to give back to the SFU Beedie community.
