Charmaine Carr-Harris, a recent master's grad from Simon Fraser University, won the Kendall Award from the American Fisheries Society for the best paper of the year in the journal of Transactions of the American Fisheries Society. The paper discovered migratory diversity of salmon smolts in the Skeena River. The project was a collaboration among scientists from SFU, Lax Kw'alaams Fisheries, Skeena Fisheries Commission, and Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Jonathan Moore, co-author on the paper and the adviser of Charmaine for her graduate work, accepted the award on her behalf at the recent American Fisheries Society Meeting.

Congratulations, Charmaine!
