Graduate Degree Program

Overview

Application Deadlines:

  • Fall (September-December): March 27th.
  • Spring (January-April): August 31st.
  • Summer (May-August): January 15th. 

Please indicate on the application which semester you are applying for. If you have missed the deadline for applications, please contact the Graduate Program Assistant (bpk_programs@sfu.ca) for further instructions and application possibilities.

Before admission into either of the thesis programs (MSc or PhD), students are encouraged to contact potential supervisors prior to submitting their application.

Note: The major competition for graduate positions occurs in the Fall Semester.

Admission Requirements

Base admission requirements for Master's and Doctoral programs are maintained by Graduate Studies and documented in Graduate General Regulations section 1.3

How to Apply

To apply for the Master's (MSc) or Doctoral (PhD) programs you must submit your application through SFU's graduate application portal maintained by Graduate Studies. Applications are reviewed by the BPK Graduate Programs Committee before they are sent to Graduate Studies which provides further review and will send out an offer letter to you if you are accepted into the program. You are encouraged to contact a potential supervisor before submitting this application.
