Admission to Programs
Admission to all BPK majors and minors is competitive as the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number that the Department of Biomedical Physiology & Kinesiology can accommodate. For this reason, the Department of Biomedical Physiology & Kinesiology is strict about upholding the University limits on course repeats.
A student can only repeat a particular course once at SFU. The total number of courses which a student can repeat is limited to 5. In the Department of Biomedical Physiology & Kinesiology there can be no third attempt to take any class.
If a student received a poor or incomplete grade due to extenuating circumstances (e.g. illness), the student can follow the Withdrawals procedures outlined here. If permitted to 'withdraw' from a class, even after receiving a grade, then that class will not count against the two permitted attempts.
Students not meeting the competitive admission/approval GPA can consult with the BPK Advisor regarding suitable program alternatives.
