CASFAA’s partnership with FCAC: Making “Your Financial Aid Toolkit” even more relevant to PSE students
Presenters: Cara Piperni, Director Scholarships & Student Aid, McGill University; Kam Holland, Director Admissions, Awards and Financial Aid, The University of Winnipeg; Maria Vranas, Manager Financial Literacy, Financial Consumer Agency of Canada
Cara Piperni is the President of CASFAA 2015/16 and the Director of Scholarships and Student Aid, McGill University.
In the spring of 2015, 14 CASFAA institutions across Canada delivered workshops from Your Financial Toolkit created by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada. In response to our collective recommendations made to their programming, FCAC has contracted CASFAA to develop examples and activities that are even more relevant to PSE students for two of their workshops: Income, Expenses and Budget and Credit and Debt Management.
This session will provide an update of the work performed so far, with the goal of consulting with the CASFAA membership. We wish to ensure that regional/provincial differences are considered, and that our effort is useful and applicable to students across Canada. Feel free to bring your financial literacy ideas and success stories as it will not be too late to add more examples and activities to our recommendations!
