Pumpkin spice things up by playing the game of community engagement.
You got that right, not only is it pumpkin spice season but it’s also THAT time of the year when we have many opportunities for you and your friends right here at the SFU Surrey – TD Community Engagement Centre. Trick or treat yo’self because we got some news for you!
For those of you who don’t know us – Welcome! SFU Surrey – TD Community Engagement is an initiative right out of SFU’s Office of Community Engagement and there’s an entire team of us. During the tough year of the pandemic, our community and team were able to continue to provide support through their programs like the Bridge Program – an education program that provides support and mentorship to English Language Learners in high school, offered by the School District 36 Welcome Centre and supported by the SFU -TD CEC.
The Bridge Program is just one of many programs the SFU Surrey – TD CEC has partnered on and has successfully adapted quickly to meet the needs of Surrey residents since the start of the pandemic.

Up to $30,000 in awards is available through the SFU Student-Community Engagement Competition to fund student-community projects that result in meaningful impact. To start the process, all you need is your name and a brief outline of your idea – if it’s among the most promising, you could win up to $3,000 to bring it to life. We are Gratefall for you! 🍂
To everyone who has volunteered to be a part of our programs to helping staff and fellow team members in putting events together – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to successfully put together all these programs and continue to have them throughout the years. Our goal is to continue to create opportunities for everyone and we have a brief survey for all previous and current SFU Surrey – TD CEC volunteers! We promise you it won’t take you longer than watching a Tik Tok. 😉 This will help us get a better idea of how we can create more programs!
