Heather brings over a decade of leadership in community building through social enterprise, social entrepreneurship and social innovation. For 8 years, Heather served as the executive director of Potluck Café and Catering, an award-winning social enterprise in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and was the founding chair of the Hastings Crossing Business Improvement Association, known as the social innovation BIA. In addition, Heather has provided support to multiple social enterprises through prior work with the Vancity Community Foundation. Other recent experience includes working as executive producer with CityStudio, an award winning social innovation hub connecting government with students across 6 universities and colleges. Heather also spent a semester co-facilitating a next generation of change makers through SFU Change Lab and is a former mentor at SFU Radius.
Currently, Heather is the executive director of the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets, representing 145+ farmers’ markets across British Columbia. Heather holds an MBA, a BA in International Relations and Native Studies and a Bachelor of Environmental Design. Heather is also a new small scale, organic farmer who lives with her new horse Alvarez on a farm in Delta.
