Biography

I am the multimedia specialist in the Learning and Teaching Technology (LTT) Division. I create interactive multimedia instructional and learning materials and resources based on objectives specified by course authors and educational consultants and developers. My primary tasks and responsibilities involve recording and editing audiovisual materials and delivering them as educational media through online streaming and platforms accessed by SFU students and instructors.

Outside of LTT, I am a video philosopher and video artist. My art projects attempt to bring forth creative acts of critique and differentiation through more-than-human and more-than-visual experience, such as sonic motifs.

I am originally from Japan and have lived in the traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples for more than two decades. I am a father. I have academic backgrounds in Sociology (for BA at SFU), Communication/Media Studies (for MA at SFU), and Educational Studies (for PhD at UBC).
