National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

December 6, 2020, marks 31 years since the tragic femicide of 14 young women enrolled in STEM classes who were killed in a shocking act of gender-based violence at L’École Polytechnique de Montréal.

The Centre for Educational Excellence joins other members of the SFU community to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. The National Day of Remembrance occurs on December 6 each year. SFU’s virtual commemoration will take place on Friday, December 4, 2020, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. To participate, please register at bit.ly/nationaldayofremembrance.

CEE has prepared a downloadable handout on “Approaches to Honouring the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Class” for faculty members and instructors. Please feel free to use and share this handout.
