September 18, 2014

A message from Dr. Monica Szczepina, Undergraduate Student Advisor:

I have the pleasure of announcing that Cameron Hodgins and Yingzi Feng have won the travel award for their respective presentations given on August 12, 2014.

The department will contribute towards travel and conference expenses ($450 each) when Cameron and Yingzi present their research at a recognized conference.

Cameron presented his NSERC USRA work titled "Carbide Coatings for Radioactive Ion Beam Target Containers at TRIUMF" (supervisor: Dr. Corina Andreoiu) and

Yingzi presented her Chem 481 work titled "Solution-phase Synthesis of Gold Nanowires on Spherical Anion Exchanging Resin" (supervisor: Dr. Byron Gates).

Excellent work to all of our presenters.
