Danaan Cordoni-Jordon: Student Speaker at Fall 2020 Science Convocation Ceremony

Congratulations to Danaan Cordoni-Jordon! Danaan was chosen to represent the graduands from the Faculty of Science as a student speaker at SFU’s Fall 2020 Virtual Convocation Ceremony which took place on October 23rd, 2020.

From the Fall 2020 Student Speakers page:

"Ms Danaan Cordoni-Jordan is graduating with an honours bachelor of science in chemical physics.

She discovered her enthusiasm for scientific research after receiving an NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award to participate in muon spin spectroscopy experiments at TRIUMF. For this work, she received the Chemistry Undergraduate Research Presentation Award and the Melanie O’Neill Undergraduate Research Award.

She also presented at the 9th Pacific Symposium on Radical Chemistry and won a poster prize.

She has held executive positions for both the Chemistry Student Society and the Physics Student Association, and received the Rudi Haering Award in Physics for summer 2020.

She is currently working at TRIUMF in collaboration with the BeEST experiment, and plans to pursue graduate studies in particle physics theory."
