Winners of the Fall 2020 Chemistry Poster Competition

November 10, 2020

A Message from Professor Krzysztof Starosta, Graduate Program Chair:

First, I would like to thank Nathalie for organizing a Virtual Poster Competition this year. It was a significant effort and great commitment of her time. We are all thankful that we could hold the competition despite the pandemic. Nathalie, thank you very much.

Next, I would like to thank all participating graduate students. For you that was a significant effort as well. In addition to posters and abstracts, you had to record videos which were so fun to watch. This is a new experience for all of us, and as much as I would like to see the university going back to in-person interactions, we may stay in virtual reality for some time in the future.

And last, I would like to thank all the judges for your time, input, and guidance.

Finally, it is my great pleasure to announce the winners of the Fall 2020 Virtual Poster Competition:

  • Josiah Newton (Supervised by R. Britton)
  • Kate Fraser (Supervised by S. Holdcroft)
  • Romain Kunert (Supervised by T. Storr)
  • Luigi Tiano (Supervised by S. Holdcroft)

Please join me in congratulating them for their outstanding contributions!

Since the quality of presentations was exceptional this year, the DGSC has decided to allocate a total of 4 Travel Awards valued at $1,000 each.

Again, thank you to all graduate students who presented their research and contributed to this important event in our department life.
